What to Expect

Visiting a new place and meeting new people can be intimidating. Once you meet us, we believe you will feel comfortable and at ease but until then, here are some things that will be helpful to know as you plan to attend.

We meet each Sunday in downtown Hastings at a building known as “The Lark.” Our services begin at 10:30am and last approximately 90 minutes. Please come dressed in any way that is comfortable for you, most of us dress casually.

Parking

As soon as you turn east onto 2nd St. you will see available parking on either side of the street. There is also parking available on N. Lincoln Ave. You should easily find a space available on either of those streets but if not, a parking lot is available behind Eakes.

Entrance

As you approach The Lark someone will be there to open the door for you and welcome you. We hope you will immediately feel loved and welcomed. Our greeters can also help you with any questions you may have. Please, feel free to dress in what is comfortable for you, we all dress casually.

Childcare

We have a nursery for children ages 0-2 at the far back of The Lark, just past the restrooms. You can make your way there as soon as you arrive and go through our simple check-in process. Someone is there to help you check your child in.

Children ages 3-10 can be checked into our kids’ ministry at the check-in station near the back as well. We have two classes for kids to learn a lesson from the Bible, one for kids 3-6 and another for 7-10 year olds. These children will remain in the service with us through our singing and will be dismissed just before the sermon. We hope that singing alongside your children will be enjoyable for you and your kids.

Please know that your child’s safety is extremely important to us. All of our nursery and children’s ministry workers have gone through background checks and have been trained in child protection procedures through an organization called MinistrySafe. We do everything that we can to ensure that your child’s experience will be enjoyable and safe.

Service

Our service is made up of singing, Bible readings, prayers, preaching, and a lot of informal conversations. We typically sing 4-5 songs with a mix of hymns and contemporary worship music. Our sermons last approximately 40 minutes and typically cover specific portions of Scripture. We use the English Standard Version of the Bible, but if you do not have a Bible we are happy to give you one or you can look on the screens at the front, where each Bible verse will be displayed.

After the Service

Spending time together after the service is also important to us. If you are comfortable, please hang around because we would love to get to know you. We enjoy meeting new people and learning how we can serve you and encourage you to take steps toward Jesus Christ. Whether you are learning about Jesus or have been walking with him for many years, we are eager to serve you. We would love to read the Bible with you, pray with you, or find any other way to help you feel encouraged and at home.

We hope you will join us soon!
